Defensive Cyber Operations Analyst
Location: Camp Lejeune, NC
Schedule: Onsite, 5 days per week
Employment Type: Long‑term contract
Compensation: $30–$50/hour, based on experience, education, and certifications
Position Overview
We are seeking a Defensive Cyber Operations Analyst to support cybersecurity monitoring, detection, and incident response activities in a Marine Corps environment. This role is fully onsite at Camp Lejeune and focused on identifying, analyzing, and remediating cybersecurity threats while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense and Marine Corps security standards.
Key Responsibilities
Detect, analyze, and respond to defensive cyber operations activities
Perform digital forensics and execute remedial actions on cybersecurity incidents
Track and report defensive cyber operations metrics and statistics
Ensure workstation and server compliance with Marine Corps McAfee Host Based Security System (HBSS) requirements
Identify and investigate cybersecurity incidents using HBSS, Tenable SecurityCenter, RedSeal, McAfee SIEM, and other automated security tools
Operate and support Imperva Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Database Firewall technologies
Required Qualifications
3+ years of hands‑on experience in defensive cyber operations
5+ years of overall cybersecurity or IT industry experience
High school diploma or GED
DoD 8570/8140 Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification
Preferred Qualifications
Host Based Security System (HBSS) 201
GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
EC‑Council Certified Incident Handler (CIH)
Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute – Fundamentals of Incident Response
