Job Description

RiverTech, an Akima company, is hiring a Software Test Engineer to support the DSLM contract in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for verification and validation of SW product releases, development, and maintenance of software test scripts, determining optimal approach to testing complex products or solutions in order to assure compliance with applicable specifications. As a Software Test Engineer you will define, develop, and execute complex test procedures in support the DSLM contract for modifications and upgrades to the Satellite Control Network (SCN) communication systems that link satellite operations centers with worldwide remote satellite tracking stations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for integration, functional, regression, and site testing.
  • Identify system and software problems through testing, and record and report test results.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts.
  • Work closely with developers, business analyst, and product owner to define testing approach for validating requirements against developed software.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to understand project specifics and create test strategies.
  • Participate in Agile Software meetings such as backlog grooming and sprint planning.
  • Map test cases to requirements and acceptance criteria.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree with minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education / experience.
  • Must be able to obtain, or possess, a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Test script development skills using at least one scripting language, such as Python.
  • Test design, development, and execution experience.

Desired Qualification:
  • Experience developing and executing automated test scripts.
  • Experience on DoD programs and interaction with government stakeholders - SCN experience is a plus.
  • Experience using the following COTS tools: VersionOne, GitHub, SharePoint, Fortify.
  • Writing custom simulations.
  • Agile Software Development experience.
  • Knowledge of software and database testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Agile software testing strategies.
