Job Description
The Flight Crew Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transport of airline crew members between aircraft, airport offices, and designated hotel locations. Operating 15-passenger company vans in a fast-paced airport environment, this role plays a critical part in supporting flight operations and ensuring on-time performance.
Drivers maintain consistent communication with dispatch, follow airport and company protocols, and deliver excellent customer service at every point of contact. This support services position functions under the supervision of the Transportation Manager and in close coordination with dispatch. Paid training is provided for airport protocols and company procedures.

Responsibilities
- Safely operate 15-passenger vans to transport airline crew on scheduled and on-call routes between the airport, hotels, and other authorized destinations.
- Monitor flight activity (via dispatch and flight displays) to adjust pickup timing and ensure prompt transport.
- Maintain real-time communication with dispatch via radio or phone regarding assignments, updates, and route adjustments.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report any mechanical or safety issues immediately.
- Ensure vehicle is clean, fueled, and ready for service at all times.
Assist with loading and unloading of crew luggage, lifting up to 70 lbs when needed. - Greet and interact with passengers in a courteous, professional, and service-focused manner.
- Accurately document trip details, including crew counts, mileage, and travel logs per company standards.
- Follow all applicable airport driving regulations, ramp access rules, and internal safety procedures.
- Remain accessible by phone during scheduled shifts for coordination with dispatch.
- Alert dispatch and fellow drivers to road hazards, construction, weather delays, or traffic issues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager, Dispatcher, or Manager on Duty.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license (REAL ID or TSA-compliant); clean driving record.
- High school diploma or GED.
- U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the United States.
- Able to obtain and maintain airport security clearance and ramp driving authorization (training provided).
- Able to pass pre-employment background check, FBI fingerprinting, and pre-employment drug testing.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willing and able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and irregular schedules.
Able to lift, carry, or move items up to 70 pounds. - Comfortable working outdoors year-round in inclement weather (rain, snow, heat, wind) Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently under time constraints.
- Proficient in using radio communication, logging tools, and email.
Preferred Qualifications.
- Minimum of 2 years recent professional driving experience (shuttle, delivery, or passenger transport).
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Calm, courteous, and composed in high-pressure situations. - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal/written instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Familiarity with airport layout, secure zones, and local driving routes preferred.
- Able to reverse and maneuver vans or vehicles with trailers safely and confidently
Physical Requirements.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
Frequently lift/move objects weighing up to 70 pounds. - Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions in all seasons.
- Visual and auditory ability to operate a vehicle and communicate effectively over radio.
- Able to read flight monitors, dispatch logs, and written instructions Work Conditions.
- Non-exempt hourly position; eligible for overtime in accordance with federal and company policies.
- Shift schedules vary and may include weekends, evenings, holidays, and irregular hours.
- Uniforms may be provided and are required while on duty.
