Job Description
Operations Security (OPSEC) Planner
A Combatant Command (CCMD) Operations Security Planner supports operations by
developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive OPSEC programs to safeguard critical
information and operations from adversaries.
Key summary:
• Locations: Colorado Springs, Colorado; Tucson and Sierra Vista, AZ
• Experience in Joint/strategic OPSEC planning
• OPSEC qualifications required, but on-the-job schooling possible
• Strongly prefer NORTHCOM AOR experience
• Current TS clearance with SCI-eligibility required
• 4 x positions in total; will likely hire range of experience levels
• Salaries from $85-$160k; benefits available, including 401(k) match
• Fully funded for immediate hire
Key responsibilities
• Support development of OPSEC plans for USNORTHCOM.
• Identify critical information (CI) that may expose friendly vulnerabilities across physical,
informational, and human aspects of the operational environment.
• Conduct OPSEC assessments to evaluate risks associated with operational activities
and information disclosure.
• Implement the CCMDs OPSEC framework.
• Analyze adversary collection capabilities, technical means, and information exploitation
threats that affect U.S. operational security.
• Provide support to deliberate campaign planning.
• Conduct training and awareness programs to maintain OPSEC discipline throughout
USNORTHCOM.
• Integrate OPSEC into planning and execution processes.
Qualifications and skills
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent operational experience
• Graduate of formal OPSEC certifications or Joint OPSEC Training courses
• Active TS /SCI security clearance (or SCI-eligible based on past investigation)
• 3+ years of operational experience in Operations Security, Information Operations or
Intelligence.
• Excellent written, verbal, and briefing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in national security, operations planning, or related field
• Experience supporting Combatant Commands or J39 organizations
• Experience integrating OPSEC into campaigns.
• Experience in NORTHCOM AOR operations.
• Prior support to Combatant Command, Joint Staff, or Joint Task Force level
headquarters.

, • Strong understanding of OPSEC planning, assessments, and integration within multi-
domain operations
• Familiarity with adversary intelligence collection disciplines (HUMINT, SIGINT, OSINT,
CYBER) and exploitation techniques
Work environment
• OPSEC Planners will work with military and government civilians at the NORTHCOM
Protection Branch/J394 in a secure area or at component command/JTF outposts.
• Job includes ability to travel to conduct OPSEC training and assessments.
Compensation
• Commensurate with experience, capability, education and benefits required. Salary
expected to be between $85,000 and $160,000.
