System Admin (Mid-Senior Level)
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator with 10+ years of expertise and a technical Bachelor’s degree to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD.
Responsibilities
Support the troubleshooting and maintenance of an End Point Management System (BigFix).
Provide Tier 1 & 2 Help Desk support to customers.
Deliver timely escalation updates and communicate issue status to agency leadership and internal customers.
Support dispatch systems by identifying, tracking, and resolving hardware and system-related issues.
Ensure configuration management, implementation, and ongoing sustainment of compliance with applicable system security controls.
Provide operational support for IT systems, including monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting for client/server environments, storage, network devices, and mobile systems.
Implement Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) and other mandated security patches; record patch status in required systems of record.
Support escalation processes and communicate incident and system status updates to agency leadership and internal stakeholders.
Participate fully in problem resolution workflows, ensuring issues are addressed to completion.
Configure, administer, and maintain UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
Install, load, update, and patch operating system software to maintain security and performance.
Troubleshoot and ensure integrity of network components, resolving connectivity and performance issues.
Implement operating system enhancements to improve system reliability, efficiency, and overall performance.
Maintain documentation of system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and issue resolution steps.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 10+ years of System Administration experience
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (ability to substitute years of experience)
IAT Level II certification (as mandated by DoD Directive 8140.01 & 8570-01-M)
Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
