The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a skilled and experienced Linux System Administrator (Level 3) to join our dynamic team to support a DoD client in Suitland, MD. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems administration, application administration, and a deep understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). This role requires expert knowledge in network technologies, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work within virtual and cloud environments.

Responsibilities:
  • System Administration:
  • Install, configure, and secure server environments, with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Manage and maintain Linux-based systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Perform routine system updates, patches, and troubleshooting.
  • Application Administration:
  • Administer and support various applications running on Linux servers.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless application deployment and integration.
  • Network Technologies:
  • Configure and manage network technologies and protocols.
  • Ensure network security and performance across all Linux systems.
  • Virtual Environments:
  • Work with virtualized environments to support system scalability and efficiency.
  • Manage and optimize virtual machines and containers.
  • Cloud Architecture:
  • Understand and implement cloud solutions and architectures.
  • Collaborate with cloud service providers to ensure smooth operation of cloud-based services.
  • Security Compliance:
  • Ensure all systems comply with DoD 8570.01-M and SECNAV M-5239.2 requirements.
  • Maintain necessary industry certifications and continue professional development.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Provide regular reports on system performance, security status, and any incidents.


Qualifications:
  • BS/BA in IT or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • 5-7 years of experience in Information Systems with a specific focus on application administration.
  • 5-7 years of experience in systems administration.
  • 5-7 years of technical experience/knowledge of installation, configuration, and security of server environments.
  • Expert Knowledge:
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) System Administration.
  • Network technologies and protocols.
  • Virtual environments.
  • Cloud architecture and solutions.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Certifications:
  • Must possess one of the following industry certifications (or equivalent education) prior to reporting on board:
  • GSEC
  • Security+ (CE)
  • SSCP
  • TS/SCI Clearance

Pay Range :

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
