The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator (Level 2) to join our dynamic team to support a DoD client in Suitland, MD. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge and expertise in Oracle database administration, with a strong focus on managing Oracle databases, performing backups, and optimizing database performance. This role requires someone who can handle complex database environments and ensure the highest levels of security and performance.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. - Manage and maintain Oracle databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Perform routine database administration tasks including installation, configuration, upgrading, and patching.
- Develop and implement database standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Backup and Recovery:
- Design, implement, and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies.
- Perform regular database backups and ensure data integrity and availability in case of failures.
- Query Optimization:
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to enhance database performance.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using various Oracle tools and techniques.
- Performance Tuning:
- Monitor and analyze database performance metrics.
- Implement performance tuning strategies to improve database efficiency and response times.
- Security Management:
- Ensure database security compliance with organizational policies and standards.
- Manage user access and permissions and implement security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Document database configurations, procedures, and changes.
- Prepare and present reports on database performance, issues, and improvements.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other IT teams to support application development and deployment.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior database administrators.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Oracle database administration.
- Proven experience in managing Oracle databases in a high-security environment.
- Advanced Knowledge and Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of Oracle database administration.
- Advanced expertise in managing Oracle databases, performing backups, and writing queries.
- Familiar with basic database performance optimization techniques.
- Certifications:
- Security+ (CE)
- Oracle DBA Professional
- Additional Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based Oracle databases (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).
- Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting).
- Experience with database replication and high availability solutions.
