The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Data Integration Engineer for the Makalu contract. If you are interested in being a part of a fast-paced, agile software development team integrating a large variety of data sources into a situational awareness application, then this is the opportunity for you.
This position is expected to be flexible and adaptive. Primary role will involve deep understanding of mult-int mission data as well a high-level technical understanding as to how this data can be retrieved from a provider and displayed within geospatial tools. Additional responsibilities may include testing and user support as needed.

Pay Range :
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. Responsibilities:
- Requirement Coordination: Liaise between backend software engineers, customers, and data providers to gather and clarify requirements. Ensure that all stakeholders have a clear understanding of the data integration needs.
- API Evaluation: Assess and evaluate APIs from various data providers to determine the best methods for data extraction. Identify fields and specific relevant data needed to adequately enhance situational awareness.
- Data Source Analysis: Understand the structure, format, and quality of data from different sources. Identify the most efficient and effective ways to integrate this data into the software application.
- Data Display Strategy: Work with UI/UX designers and frontend developers to determine the best ways to display integrated data. Ensure that the data is presented in a user-friendly and meaningful manner.
- Technical Implementation: Collaborate with backend engineers to implement data integration solutions. Ensure that data flows seamlessly between different systems and applications.
- Testing and Validation: Perform thorough testing to ensure data accuracy and integrity post-integration. Validate that the integrated data meets the requirements specified by customers and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Required:
- An active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, or related field
- 7+ years of relevant experience (or 9+ years without related degree)
- Understanding of mission relevant intelligence data across multiple domains.
- Strong understanding of data structures and data management principles.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work across teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks with minimal oversight
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
Desired:
- Basic understanding of API calls
- Security Plus certification
- Understanding of other data transfer methods
- Ability to use Postman or cURL to test API access
