Job Description

Duties

  • Serves as the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program Support Services Specialist (SAR WF) responsible for planning and coordinating a variety of services functions that are principally work-supporting.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain administrative practices that comply with Department of the Army (DA) and Major Command (MACOM) guidance to create efficient and effective organization business processes.
  • Communicate administrative policy, goal, mission, and philosophy to all levels of organization using a comprehensive knowledge of written and verbal communication.
  • Serves as focal point for strategic and change management, business process improvement and reengineering, organizational capability maturity and governance.
  • Develop guidance on administrative techniques and methods of improvement. Develop manuals and directives covering the administrative aspects of operations.
  • Maintain senior leadership personnel profiles and ensure accurate and timely submission of actionable items.
  • Develop an organizational records management program that complies with MACOM and DA guidance.
  • Plans, coordinates, supports and executes a variety of social functions to include luncheons, dinners, receptions and military ceremonies in accordance with applicable policies, regulations, protocol and military traditions to support SHARP Programs.

  • TDY (Travel) may be required up to 25% of the time for this position.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance.
  • Background checks against all records required by law, OPM, DoD, and Army policy or regulation will be conducted prior to entering on duty in the position, and IAW governing regulations, on a recurring basis while employed in the position.
  • Minimum of a Tier 3 background investigation, or equivalent, and enrollment in Continuous Evaluation are required
  • Must attend and graduate from required SHARP training courses within six months of employment.
  • While waiting for training or completion of certification, the employee may be reassigned or detailed to a position that meets the employee's qualifications and skills.
  • The detail or reassignment will be without promotion or demotion and will be until the DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certificate is provided.
  • State Criminal History Repository check is required for all states of residence in the previous five and/or up to ten years.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle should the need arise to operate a government vehicle/motor pool vehicle.
  • Within six months of employment must successfully complete required Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) training and maintain D-SAACP certification.
  • Must complete all required training, obtain D-SAACP certification, and be placed on appointment orders prior to having any victim contact or access to victim information.
  • Required to self-report civilian arrests, the filing of criminal charges, and/or convictions of any criminal offense to their supervisors.
  • May be required to carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a rotational basis, based on the needs of the organization.

To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must possess at least 52 weeks of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized experience is defined as: Developing, implementing, and evaluating business processes utilizing knowledge of Sexual Harassment and Assault (SHARP) Programs; and Managing a variety of administrative service operations (e.g., reports, personnel, records, travel, events, supply, etc.) necessary for efficient and effective organizational mission accomplishment.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks, must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
  • Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area.
  • If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
  • If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler, but for the child's age, is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
