Job Description
Senior Server Operating System Engineer
Clearance- TS/SCI
Location- Offutt AFB, NE
Salary: 150k
Requirements:
(1) A minimum of one (1) year of documented training or experience relevant to designing, deploying, and maintaining systems and capabilities that comply with DoD cybersecurity policies and regulations. Major driving policies include DoD 8500 series Directives and Instructions (Cybersecurity / Information Assurance / DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditations Process / Risk Management Framework), DoD 8100 series Directives (Cyber Workforce), and CNSSI 1253 (Security Controls for National Security Systems). In lieu of specific DoD cybersecurity policies and regulations, the candidate shall articulate training and experience with relative Commercial / Industry level cybersecurity policies and regulations.
(2) As USSTRATCOM matures the DoD-D 8140 Cyber Workforce program, Contract team members shall be subject to Cyber related certification requirements. Contract team members shall be required to obtain certification meeting 8140 series requirements within 6-months of notification.
Associated training and certification costs shall be at the expense of the Contractor to obtain required DoD-D 8140 Cyber Workforce certification. The certificates required are dependent on the role the team member is filling.
Engineers will be filling the Systems Requirements Planner role and shall have one of the following certifications:
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP),
CompTIA Security + (formerly CASP+),
GIAC Cloud Security Automation (GCSA),
GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC),
or Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP).
(3) 2.4.1.3. Team members shall have at least five (5) years' experience demonstrating written and oral communication skills including developing and presenting complex written products and oral briefings to senior leaders at the O-6/GS-15 level or higher (equivalent industry level executives is acceptable).
(4) A minimum of eight (8) years' experience as an IT Systems Engineer (SE) with documented experience supporting SE Processes and associated Technical Processes which include:
Requirements Tradeoff, Cost Estimation, Technical Assessments, Technical Planning, Configuration Control Boards, Capabilities Based Assessments, Integrated Baseline Review, Lifecycle Sustainment Planning, Information Assurance/Cybersecurity, Requirements Traceability, Statement of Objectives or Work, Systems Engineering Plan, Work Breakdown Structure, and Technical Audits. Reference the DoD Systems Engineering Guidebook dated February 2022 located at https://ac.cto.mil/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Systems-Eng- Guidebook_Feb2022- Cleared-slp.pdf for clear
definitions of the listed SE and Technical Processes. In lieu of SE experience, a Master's degree in any engineering discipline or Computer Science may be substituted for three (3) years' of SE experience.
A Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline or Computer Science may be substituted for one (1) year of SE experience.
(5) Shall have Senior-level specialized knowledge, skillsets, and experience in creating, sustaining, modernizing, and integrating Enterprise-wide server architectures.
(6)Current USSTRATCOM Enterprise is based on Microsoft Windows Server 2019 or later, Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 or later, and a small number of Linux-variant appliances.
Contractor shall have experience with current automation technologies and techniques for deployment and sustainment to achieve IaaS & PaaS capabilities that include metrics and monitoring.
(7) Contractor shall have experience with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), Identity and Access Management (IDAM), DNS integration, and MFA integration.
(8) For Windows Server specialization Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), and Windows Server Update Service (WSUS) shall be required.
(9) For RHEL specialization, Redhat Satellite Server, Redhat Ansible Automation Platform, and Redhat Identity Manager shall be required.
(10) An active intermediate or higher certification with Microsoft Server or Redhat Linux shall be required.
