The Opportunity:
This position provides opportunity for a CAD expert to design and execute layouts of complex products and equipment of an electrical or mechanical nature. The complexity of our customer's requirements will require the successful candidate to exercise considerable initiative, latitude, independent judgment and the ability to design independently with only general technical direction. The successful candidate will perform original design work after receiving the design goal or problem, general method of processing and engineering advice on related theoretical aspects to be taken into account in the design. Your design work requires individual creativity, application of advanced drafting techniques and thorough knowledge of practical fabrication techniques. You may be asked to determine solutions to engineering problems including simple stress analysis, heat transfer, vibration, acoustic isolation, strength/weight efficiency, availability of materials, ease of fabrication, interchangeability and problems of related complexity.

Responsibilities:
- Create, modify, and maintain 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD tools.
- Develop detailed drawings, layouts, assemblies, and schematics in support of hardware systems
- Support configuration control by incorporating drawing changes and revisions.
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable drafting standards and program requirements.
- Maintain organized drawing packages and associated technical documentation.
- Coordinate with engineers to clarify design intent and resolve discrepancies.
- Support engineering change activities and documentation updates.
- Assist with preparation of drawing packages for fabrication, installation, or sustainment.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor degree and minimum of 5 years of professional drafting experience including in Drafting and Computer Aided Design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for 2D technical drawings
- Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and assemblies.
- Experience producing detailed mechanical and/or electrical drawings.
- Experience working from engineering sketches, redlines, and verbal direction.
- Familiarity with drawing revision processes and configuration control.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, and program staff.
Desired:
- Experience with Solid Edge.
- Prior experience supporting DoD or Navy programs.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD, NAVSEA, or ANSI drafting standards.
