Job Description

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to serve as a member of a system engineering team. This role is onsite in Colorado Springs supporting a DoD customer.
Responsibilities:
· Support Innovation: Develop and design cutting-edge solutions to optimize efficiency, security, and sustainability within a team supporting Ground System and Platform MDSEA frameworks.
· Contribute to Technical Initiatives: Lead a team that will conduct comprehensive studies and analyses, define detailed requirements, engineer preliminary and detailed ground system and platform architectures, and oversee system development for enterprise services, satellite ground systems, and operations centers (including supporting facilities).
· Contribute to all Phases of the Engineering Lifecycle: Support projects from initiation through requirements management, task execution, and ground system sustainment.
· Support Implementation: Document designs and create comprehensive implementation and test plans for execution by sustainment personnel.
· Collaborate and Integrate: Direct a cohesive partnership within the team and other engineers, system administrators, cybersecurity, test teams, project managers, software developers, network engineers, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and compliance with all relevant standards and policies.
· Support Program Milestones: Work collaboratively with Project Managers to define tasks and schedules
Minimum Qualifications:
· Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance.
· 6 or more years of directly related to the support or management of IT systems engineering or architecture role/capacity within a DoD and/or commercial enterprise
· 2 or more years directly leading and managing system engineers withing a DoD and/or commercial enterprise
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering).
· Subject Matter Expertise in system engineering with extensive knowledge of virtual IT environments
· Requirements Management: Fundamental understanding of Requirements Analysis and Management principles.
· Engineering Lifecycle: Proficient understanding of the System Engineering V-Model and engineering lifecycle.
· Self-Motivation: Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.
· Experience with Linux and Windows administration, storage management and effective database management techniques
· TS/SCI eligibility
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience working within Department of Defense (DoD) organizations.
· Competency in developing and editing Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) (or equivalent framework).
· Ability to logically decompose complex mission systems into manageable components.
· Experience in developing detailed implementation plans for new solutions and systems.
· A track record of effectively troubleshooting and applying critical thinking skills to resolve IT system dependencies, impacts, and sustainability challenges.
· Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
· Familiarity with cloud computing (server and serverless) technologies (e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Red Hat Openshift)
· Experience working with SysML and MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler (No Magic), IBM Rhapsody, or Sparx Enterprise Architect.
· Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., INCOSE ASEP, CompTIA Security+).
