Senior Human Resources Generalist (Active Top Secret Clearance Required)
Location: Fairfax, VA (Onsite) 22030
Salary: $125,000 – $150,000+ (DOE)
Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) required
Overview
We are hiring a Senior HR Generalist (TS Cleared) to support a growing government contractor in Fairfax, VA. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional with 7+ years of hands-on HR experience who is ready to step into a people management role while remaining deeply involved in day-to-day HR operations.
Required Qualifications
• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance – REQUIRED
• 7+ years of HR Generalist experience (employee relations, benefits, compliance, compensation)
• Experience in a government contracting environment (GovCon)
• Hands-on experience with:
o Benefits administration & open enrollment
o 401(k) plan management (testing, audits, filings)
o Employee relations, investigations, and performance management
o HR reporting, analytics, and executive-level presentations
• Prior experience mentoring or leading HR staff (or readiness to step into management)
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred
• PHR or SPHR certification
• Experience supporting organizations with 500+ employees
• Experience in a government contracting environment (GovCon)
Key Responsibilities
HR Leadership & Strategy
• Manage and develop a team of 3 (HR Specialists, Recruiter)
• Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning and HR strategy
• Ensure compliance with federal employment law and government contracting requirements
Employee Relations & Compliance
• Handle employee relations issues, investigations, PIPs, and terminations
• Maintain compliance with HR policies, procedures, and labor laws
• Deliver annual compliance and ethics training
Benefits & 401(k) Administration
• Administer employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, ancillary)
• Lead open enrollment and benefits renewals; manage broker relationships
• Oversee 401(k) administration, including nondiscrimination testing and Form 5500
Compensation & Performance
• Support compensation strategy, salary planning, and bonus programs
• Lead performance management cycles and employee evaluations
HR Operations & Reporting
• Oversee onboarding, new hire orientation, and HRIS updates
• Manage HR administration (salary changes, verifications, documentation)
• Prepare HR metrics, reporting, and board-level headcount presentations
Employee Engagement
• Lead employee engagement programs, events, and internal communications
