SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-14, or equivalent in other pay systems. - Provides expert advice and counsel to the CCDR and senior staff on matters related to regional security, counterterrorism, Iranian activities, and strategic competition within the CENTCOM AOR, focusing on supporting the achievement of CENTCOM's strategic goals and objectives.
- Leads and manages special projects as assigned by the CDR providing expert guidance and ensuring timely completion of project objectives.
- Represents CENTCOM in interagency forums, working groups, and meetings, coordinating with other government agencies (e.g., Department of State, NSC, CIA) to advance U.S. policy objectives in the region and ensure a whole-of-government approach to addressing complex challenges and supporting the achievement of CENTCOM's goals and objectives.
- Engages at senior levels with think tanks, academia, and other influencers on CENTCOM-wide issues.

- Weekend duty will be required. Incumbent must be available for work within one-hour recall in emergency situations and must be available to travel in CONUS within 24 hours and OCONUS within 72 hours of notice.

- Position is designated special-sensitive and requires a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
- This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive (special sensitive, critical sensitive, or non-critical sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of USCENTCOM, national security, and public safety. Therefore, incumbent is required to: (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and misuse of prescription medication, and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing on short notice. Incumbent must pass initial and may be selected for random drug testing. May be subject to reasonable suspicion testing, safety mishap, or accident testing. The selectee must sign a statement acknowledging the position occupied is identified as a TDP.
- This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions. IAW, DoDI3020-42, Defense Continuity Programs.
