The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Senior Level (7 + years of experience in this field) UxS Engineer to support management of multiple UxS programs. This position will require advanced understanding of UxS systems, subcomponents, and commercial UxS technologies, with an emphasis on those pertaining to Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The engineer will help lead integrated product teams in the design, development, testing, and productization of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Responsibilities:
  • Be capable of performing all functional duties independently if required and without training.
  • Spearhead the entire product lifecycle for advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), from initial concept and requirements definition with government clients to final production and deployment. You will be the technical authority, guiding integrated product teams through design, development, testing, and productization.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all technical matters concerning UxS, leveraging your deep expertise to inform critical decisions. You will also coordinate with interagency and Department of War partners to ensure project alignment and success.
  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of UxS technologies, including in-depth examination of target devices and interpretation of engineering data and schematics. You will be responsible for producing and presenting technical intelligence products to a variety of stakeholder including the Department of War, Intelligence Community, and Defense Industry.
  • Assist in the management of nonstandard acquisition projects to procure threat-representative systems and components, track funding and order lists, and identify suitable substitutes for essential items.
  • Drive the development of novel solutions to complex engineering challenges. You will be at the forefront of identifying and integrating cutting-edge commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and improvised technologies to counter emerging threats.
  • Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians during flight tests.
  • Execute comprehensive test and evaluation (T&E) campaigns for UAS systems, from initial planning and resource allocation to final data analysis and reporting.
  • Create top level project management plans which include working in conjunction with government clients in the formulation of product requirements, key system attributes, timeline and cost estimates, and risk management plans.
  • Lead the technical and functional examination of target devices through exploitation and research to identify critical components of unmanned systems.
  • Coordinate and deconflict projects with interagency and Defense Department partners.
  • Identify future threat technology to support RDT&E, planning, and operations.
  • Perform technical UAS research in classified databases for use in written products.


Qualifications:
Required:
  • Current and Active Secret clearance and able to obtain TS/SCI.
  • BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering or currently studying towards a Master's in the aforementioned.
  • Experience with conceptual research, product development, production processes, and qualification testing.
  • Proven experience across the full product lifecycle, including conceptual design, development, production, and qualification testing for complex systems.
  • Hands-on experience with the design, assembly, and integration of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading test campaigns to validate system performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills, with a proven ability to brief technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong ability to conduct system-level analysis of COTS products and technical systems, documenting findings in clear, concise technical reports.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
