Position: Data Analyst, Congressional Affairs Support
Location: Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia
Clearance: Top Secret / SCI
Education: Bachelor’s degree in data science, data analytics, computer science, or similar quantitative field; or equivalent experience
Outcomes:
The successful candidate is expected to accomplish the following outcomes the first year in the position:
• Utilizes statistical methods and analytical tools to interpret complex data sets, identifying trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business strategies which leads to positive Government performance feedback.
Responsibilities:
The Headquarters United States Space Force (HQ USSF) and the Director of Staff (HQSF/DS) require assistance in organizational planning, implementation, maturation, and strengthening of the HQ Space Force. To further the process of developing HQ USSF, a multi-faceted planning, integration, and management support team continues to implement a multi-phased, (multi-year), plan to transition HQ USSF from an initial operating capacity to full operational capacity. The
Data Analyst for Congressional Affairs Support will assist the Sr. Data Analyst with these efforts by performing the following functions:
• Support ongoing USSF Congressional Affairs staffing efforts.
• Support with supporting ongoing USSF stand-up, implementation planning efforts, support Space Force culture design and enablement related to Congressional Affairs functions.
• Assist with planning and development of knowledge management (KM) in Palantir Foundry, Microsoft SharePoint, and CRM systems.
• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines.
• Assist with upkeep of KM systems.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and applications.
• Create comprehensive reports and visualizations to present findings to senior DAF officials and other stakeholders, translating complex data into understandable formats.
• Track key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of Congressional engagements and business processes and recommend improvements based on data insights.
• Support development and implementation of the DAF’s Congressional Engagement Strategy.
Qualifications: The candidate must have the following qualifications:
• Top Secret / SCI security clearance bachelor’s degree in data science, data analytics, computer science, or similar quantitative field.
• 2-3 years of experience with data analysis and data architecture development.
• Knowledge of DevOps principles, data governance, and data QA/QC.
• Experience utilizing CI/CD pipelines.
• Skilled in GIS and geospatial data analysis.
• Proficiency with SQL, Python (Pandas, NumPy, PySpark), and Typescript.
• Experience with Power BI and other data visualization tools.
• Analytical abilities to interpret data and derive actionable insights, along with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Highly Desired Requirements: Experience leveraging cloud-based databasing, ETL, and data visualization solutions to support data-driven decision making.
• Degree in data science, data analytics, computer science, or similar quantitative field.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry and/or Palantir certifications.
• MLOps and LLM integration (embedding, RAG) experience.
• Proficiency with supervised and unsupervised ML (scikit-learn, PyTorch).
• Proven experience developing well-designed reports and briefings for executive leadership.
• Legislative/Congressional affairs experience.
