Volt is immediately hiring for Senior RF Hardware Engineer - AURORA, CO
Hardware Engineer will provide support to include storage, retrieval, and manipulation of data for analysis and troubleshooting of system capabilities and requirements; utilize analytic devices such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers for troubleshooting; monitor functioning of equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure the system operates in conformance with specifications; support the generation of concept of operations (CONOP) and provide recommendations for system architecture.
This is 12 months Full- time- contract with possible hire opportunity.
Clearance: Active TS/SCI w/ Poly
Required Skills:
Must be able to support occasional travel (both CONUS and OCONUS).
Must be able to support emergency repair trips with little or no advanced notice.
Must be able to provide occasional after-hour call-in support.
Must be able to work at heights and successfully complete safety requirements for antenna/tower training.
Prior experience supporting Operations and Maintenance (O&M) ground systems engineering activities for a satellite communications system.
Experience generating, analyzing, tracking, and managing requirements.
Experience with systems engineering developing and maintaining schematics, analysis, block diagrams, system Bill of Materials (BOMs), and design review packages.
Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Desired Skills:
Influence design performance & cost trade-off studies for proposed engineering changes.
Contribute effectively on design teams and provide technical insight to the team members.
Apply previous knowledge and experience to provide recommendations for development of new operational concepts, architecture, and to increase efficiencies within the existing system.
Support design performance & cost trade-off studies for proposed engineering changes.
Proficient use of Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes.
Experience working with vendors for the timely repair and tracking of critical operational hardware.
Experience upgrading hardware supported by Windows and Linux based systems.
Previous experience working with systems supported by Linux operating systems.
Highly articulate with strong written and verbal communications skills.
Technical ability to identify and document system related capability enhancements through generation and submittal of White Papers and other submittals.
Education Level Required:
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field.
Pay Range: $70.00 - $ 80.00 per hour.
