Job Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking a Nuclear Stockpile Analyst / Policy Advisor to provide subject matter expertise and analytical support for the management and sustainment of the U.S. nuclear stockpile. This role supports senior-level engagement across the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Energy (DoE), and interagency partners, ensuring informed decision-making through rigorous analysis, policy development, and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on nuclear stockpile sustainment issues, identifying risks, trends, and strategic implications.
  • Synthesize information from a wide range of stakeholders to develop formal policy positions, recommendations, and analytical products for government leadership.
  • Prepare high-quality written materials, including research papers, white papers, decision papers, briefings, and draft testimony.
  • Serve as the focal point for coordinating nuclear stockpile-related staff packages, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Air Force staffing processes.
  • Review and provide formal comments on sustainment-related documents from internal and external organizations, facilitating resolution of feedback across stakeholders.
  • Participate in technical discussions, meetings, wargames, and interagency forums, representing organizational equities and capturing key insights.
  • Analyze information from engagements to assess impacts and develop recommended courses of action for leadership consideration.
  • Maintain organized records of current and historical nuclear stockpile activities to ensure programmatic continuity and knowledge retention.
  • Develop and manage structured archives of decisions, policies, and supporting materials for easy access and reference.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Demonstrated experience in nuclear enterprise, defense policy, strategic systems, or related national security fields
  • Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking capabilities
  • Proven ability to develop policy documents, briefings, and formal reports for senior leaders
  • Familiarity with DoD, DoE, and interagency coordination processes
  • Experience managing complex staff coordination and review processes
