Job Description
Must Haves:
5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA
Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field
TS/SCI
Design knowledge and experience in the areas of RF (radar preferred) signal processing
Knowledge of radar architectures, capabilities, and waveforms (SAR preferred)
RF countermeasure experience (radar preferred)
RF closed loop HW evaluations (working with cable connected RF / Effects at raw IQ level)
Day to Day: On a day-to-day basis, the Radar Countermeasures Engineer will work hands-on in a laboratory environment at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, analyzing radar systems and RF data to evaluate radar performance, vulnerabilities, and countermeasure effectiveness. The role involves using MATLAB to develop and modify signal processing algorithms, analyze raw IQ data, and interface with RF hardware during closed-loop, cable-connected testing. The engineer will plan and execute controlled experiments focused on counter‑radar, counter‑SAR, and counter‑UAS scenarios to support air survivability for aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned systems, including drone and swarm threats. Daily work includes documenting test results, interpreting data, and preparing technical briefings and reports to communicate findings to multidisciplinary engineering teams and government stakeholders, while contributing to ongoing research and development efforts addressing evolving radar and electronic warfare threats.
