Job Description
Clearance: Secret
Must Haves:
- Secret Clearance
- Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT Level 2
- Bachelors degree and 4-8 years of experience OR Masters degree and 2-6 years of experience
- Strong proficiency with network hardware, including equipment specifications, configuration procedures, and testing methodologies
- Hands on experience configuring, activating, testing, and troubleshooting routers and switches across diverse environments.
- Solid understanding of core telecommunications and IT concepts, terminology, and foundational technologies.
- Knowledge of data and voice network architecture, including multi system transmission paths, router to router connectivity using military and commercial protocols switch to switch trunking with VLANs, and circuit provisioning through multiplexers.
- Practical experience with key network services and technologies and understanding network appliances including routers, load balancers, DNS servers, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with network protocols including BGP and OSPF
Preferred:
- Experience supporting DISA
Day-To-Day:
The candidate supports end to end service activation by coordinating with customers, architects, and vendors, performing IT&A, and ensuring all implementations meet governement standards. They manage Service Orders and TSOs, initiate device configurations, and validate customer requirements through DISN systems and databases. Their work includes designing and adjusting network configurations, coordinating circuit activations with commercial providers, and monitoring network performance to verify successful changes. The candidate applies systems analysis techniques to define functional requirements and collaborates with government project managers and customers to resolve unclear or incomplete information.
