What You'll Do
- Design, architect, configure, deploy, upgrade and support enterprise storage and backup platforms
- Provide hands-on engineering support for NetApp environments and related storage technologies (SAN/NAS)
- Diagnose and resolve complex storage system issues and performance bottlenecks
- Perform capacity planning, performance tuning and optimization of storage and backup environments
- Support data center migrations and storage replication strategies
- Integrate storage solutions with virtualization platforms (VMware, Nutanix, OpenStack)
- Ensure high availability and reliability of storage systems through proper design and implementation
- Maintain and update hardware, operating systems and storage software in accordance with security requirements
- Adhere to engineering standards and participate in technical reviews and architecture discussions
- Create and maintain technical documentation including diagrams, runbooks and procedures
- Monitor system performance and utilization metrics and make recommendations for improvement
- Provide incident support and participate in on-call rotations
- Collaborate with engineers, architects and stakeholders to evaluate and implement new technologies
What You'll Need
- US Citizenship
- TS/SCI + Full Scope Polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 12 years of experience supporting programs of similar scope, type and complexity
- Extensive hands-on experience with NetApp storage solutions (required)
- Strong experience with SAN and NAS technologies
- Knowledge of storage protocols: NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, S3 and Fiber Channel
- Experience with backup technologies such as Veritas NetBackup, Cohesity, Rubrik or CommVault
- Proven experience with capacity planning, performance tuning and storage optimization
- Experience supporting data center migrations and replication technologies
- Strong understanding of hardware and performance concepts (RAID, I/O, CPU, memory, networking)
- Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and networking fundamentals
- Experience integrating storage with virtualization platforms (VMware, Nutanix, OpenStack)
- Understanding of security best practices and federal compliance frameworks (FISMA, STIG, etc)
- CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent for DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliance
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
