Senior Operations Research Analyst (TS/SCI Required)

Overview

A leading national security-focused organization is seeking a Senior Operations Research Analyst (ORSA) to support mission-critical programs within the intelligence and defense community.

This role involves applying advanced analytical, mathematical, and modeling techniques to support high-impact decision-making in complex operational environments. The work directly contributes to national security initiatives, including space and defense-related missions.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership across projects involving:

Operations research

Applied mathematics

Data analytics

Modeling & simulation

Decision analysis

Develop and implement mathematical and statistical models to support mission objectives

Determine appropriate levels of analytical rigor based on mission complexity and data uncertainty

Translate customer requirements into analytical approaches and deliverables

Communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders

Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team of government and contractor personnel

Support the development of new processes, methodologies, and analytical frameworks

Required Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance (required)

Bachelor’s degree in:

Operations Research

Systems Engineering

Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical field

10+ years of relevant experience

Strong experience with:

Operations research methodologies

Modeling & simulation

Data analysis and decision support

Experience with design of experiments

Proven ability to lead analytical teams on complex, high-risk projects

Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences

Ability to work in a secure environment (SCIF)

High level of initiative, adaptability, and problem-solving capability

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s or PhD in a quantitative or technical field

Experience supporting:

DoD, Intelligence Community, or space-related programs

Programming experience with:

Python

MATLAB

R

SQL

VBA

Experience with large-scale data analytics and modeling frameworks
