Cyber Operations Planner

Duties

• Work alongside echelons to provide mission aligned planning for cyberspace.
• Recognize threats to deter and detect malicious cyberspace activity.
• Provide expertise in operations and mission requirements.
• Present briefings and operational awareness to cyber components.
• Work with cyberspace operations to provide critical infrastructure and key resources for task forces.
• Work alongside internal and external agencies in order to coordinate joint representation for USCYBERCOM goals.
• Utilize planning techniques for mission requirements.
• Maintain a working relationship with counterparts to maintain mission goals of USCYBERCOM.
• Make recommendations collectively for mission support and operations.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
• The employee may be recalled to duty, may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, and may be required to work overtime.
• Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and/or commercial aircraft.
• The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI clearance as a condition of employment and must complete a counterintelligence scope polygraph exam.
• The incumbent must meet NSA personnel security requirements outlined in NSA/CSS Policy 5-1.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
• This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP). Employee must pass initial and periodic random drug testing.
• This is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Appointment to this position does not confer competitive status.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a three year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in DoDI 1400.25 V3005, Cyber Excepted Service, Employment and Placement.

Applicant must have one year of directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by 1. Providing expertise for the defense cyberspace operations; 2. Conducting plans with higher echelons that are mission-aligned; 3. Working alongside defense critical infrastructure or key resources for cyberspace operations; and 4. Interpret and determine malicious cyberspace intent to protect national interest.
