Valiant is looking for a Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) Exercise Support team member to support the Joint Staff J7 in Suffolk Virginia. This full-time position will elicit, coordinate, track, manage, and monitor JKO support to Joint exercises. This position operates under the guidance and direction of the JKO Knowledge Services

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supports the JKO KS Lead in management, tracking, and coordination of exercise related content development requirements as they relate to Joint exercise support and the population and management of the JKO Exercise Training Support (JETS) portals on NIPR and SIPR.
  • Facilitates synchronized activities between all JKO elements and the government.
  • Coordinates directly with JS J7 exercise desk officers, lead planners, and functional planners to identify training requirements.
  • Works closely with Deployable Training and Learning Division (DTLD) team leads to establish pre-exercise academic requirements.
  • Coordinates directly with combatant command (CCMD) and service lead planners to identify and support Joint exercise requirements.
  • Enables the establishment of working relationships and cooperative efforts with interagency, intergovernmental, nongovernmental, and multinational partners.
  • Supports in-process reviews of exercise support operations to the JKO Program Manager.
  • Maintains and manages the JKO JETS portals on NIPR and SIPR. Recommends and coordinates upgrades and enhancements to the JETS portals with JKO KS.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: Top Secret security clearance required

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Bachelor's degree, Graduate of an intermediate Service School desired.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with senior DoD and non-DoD entities.
  • Expert knowledge of the Joint Training System (JTS) and Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC).
  • Expert k nowledge in working in a Joint Environment.
  • Supporting multi-Service and DoD civilian personnel, education, and training methodologies.
  • Knowledge of DoD planning and management processes.
  • Knowledge of JKO LMS operations, training, and technical capabilities.
  • Knowledge of web-based training techniques
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a U.S. passport
  • 8+ years' experience as a commissioned officer or DoD civilian equivalent including 5 years' experience in planning and conducting military training.
  • Must be able to travel unassisted to CONUS and oversees locations to perform job duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, assess, adjust and execute plans.
  • Experience in Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC), Universal Joint Task List (UJTL).
  • Ability to organize and complete assignments according to established standards regarding clarity, conciseness, style and terminology.
  • Skilled in all aspects of communications for briefings, presentations and classroom instructions.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office presentation, word processing, spreadsheet and collaboration applications.
  • Be able to obtain a company Travel Card.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Position: On-site, Office environment

Work Week: Monday-Friday (may vary based on mission requirements)

Work Hours: 0800 - 1700 (may vary based on mission requirements)

Overtime: Exempt, but surge efforts as required
Travel: As required, up to 25%
