CODEplus is seeking an Engine Systems Analyst to support the ESSCA contract in Huntsville, Al.
As a key member of the Engine Systems Analysis team, primary duties for the Propulsion Systems Analyst will include:
Support the planning, design, development, and testing of liquid propulsion systems for various research and development programs.
Develop steady state and transient engine models to support various NASA programs.
Develop power balance models for various pump-fed engine systems.
Assess expected engine performance throughout the various stages of the development process.
Conduct high-fidelity modeling and simulation of liquid propulsion systems to include transient analyses of start, shutdown, and throttling of rocket engines.
Create/utilize stability analysis tools to assess engine stability from ROCETS model results.
Attend test readiness meetings and pre- and post-test data reviews. Prepare and present material to review boards.
Coordinate, develop, and present technical materials related to engine system performance and testing in support of design milestone reviews and anomaly investigations.
Prepare technical assessments in areas of liquid propulsions system/subsystem performance.
Participate in relevant trade teams. Identify and pursue resolution of issues.
Identify and document customer objectives and product requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Education requirements are a BS plus 5 years of experience, or MS plus 3 years of experience in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering field from an ABET-accredited university.
Qualifications include:
In-depth understanding of pump-fed, liquid rocket engine cycles and operation.
In-depth experience with the use of propulsion analysis tools including MATLAB/Simulink, ROCETS and Fortran.
Exhibited capability to plan and perform liquid engine systems analysis tasks independently and as part of a team.
