The Opportunity:
Embark on an extraordinary career journey by deploying your expertise in a dynamic international setting. As a Senior Network Operations Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in leading advanced network operations at U.S. Air Force bases across the vibrant Indo-Pacific region.
What You'll Do:
- Lead with Impact: Maintain secure, high-availability network enclaves and deliver hands-on troubleshooting and break/fix support.
- Innovate and Configure: Contribute to the strategic planning and configuration of data center and edge network services.
- Mentor and Guide: Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring their growth and success.
- Analyze and Adapt: Perform in-depth protocol and traffic flow analysis, and seamlessly integrate emerging technologies to ensure mission continuity in forward-deployed environments.
- Ensure Excellence: Oversee the monitoring of network assets in accordance with SLAs, and supervise break/fix and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and resolve issues with legacy wired solutions in response to network faults, errors, incidents, and problems.
- Perform hands-on technical work on all network devices.
- Ensure the upkeep of multiple network enclaves, primarily consisting of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls, with support for other vendor products.
- Adapt to and implement emerging technologies within the network environment.
- Bring extensive experience and technical knowledge of both Enterprise and Data Center networks, along with network security technologies.
- Work with DMVPN technologies, EIGRP, BGP, and emerging data center architectures, as well as network automation technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership for enterprise network infrastructure at the Network Operations Center.
- Conduct site surveys, configuration and engineering, installation planning, and documentation services for all network services.
- Analyze network protocols, routing standards, traffic patterns, and data flow.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and orally, presenting products and ideas in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Technical BA/BS degree
- 7 years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or a High School diploma or associate degree with a minimum of 10 years performing as a Network Engineer supporting large, complex networks in a Network Operations Center environment.
- Clearance: Secret Eligible
- Desired:
- Experience with DoD IT security requirements; experience supporting DoD projects, specifically network modernization projects.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Preferred:
- ITIL v3 or ITSM experience
- CCNA, Juniper certifications
- DoD 8570 IAT III Baseline Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or CCNA-SEC or equivalent); CCNP, CCDP, or equivalent.
