• Location: 1200 Redstone Gateway SW Huntsville, AL 35808
• Duration: long term, ongoing contract – we are a direct sub to the C2BMC program
• Clearance: Secret, will hold TS if you already have it
• Program – C2BMC
"This position is for a Software Engineer on the C2BMC program. The candidate will be responsible for software development in Java for the Regional Applications/Track Server team in Huntsville. Under minimal direction, provides specialized expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, application implications, and customer areas.
Essential Functions:
• Responsible for in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, integration, and user support
• Maintains currency, debugs, and configures related software products
• Works from specifications to develop or modify operating system applications
• Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs
• Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve overall efficiency of the operating system
• Designs, codes, tests, and implements tools for operations automation
• Works independently on most phases of software systems programming applications, requiring only minor instruction and guidance in other phases
Basic Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
• Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
• Experience and knowledge of software practices such as coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines, and configuration
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced, team environment
• Demonstrated software engineering and development skills, with strong Java/J2EE expertise, extensive experience with Java foundation classes and toolkits, and a background in developing enterprise applications on Linux (Windows experience also desired)
• Extensive Experience with Java foundation classes and toolkits
• Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance and operational issues, identify root cause, recommend, design, and implement a solution
• Use Maven, git/GitHub, Nexus, and Eclipse
• Experienced in Agile development methodologies
• Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts, such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the following areas is desired for effective performance in this role:
• Command and control system application development
• Experience with Software Integration and formal testing
• Knowledge and experience implementing Cyber Security/RMF requirements
• You should be able to present advanced concepts to non-software engineers, including senior program and military leaders, as part of your responsibilities
• Experience with performance modeling
• Experience with microservices
• Experience with DevSecOps and/or build management
• Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasks
• The successful candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to work independently in a highly dynamic environment"
