Position Location
This position will be based onside in San Diego, California and occasional travel to shipboard and shore facilities may be required.
Job Overview
Engineer, Systems II will provide engineering and technical support for Global Command and Control System - Maritime (GCCS-M) installations and sustainment activities supporting U.S. Navy C4I operational environments.
The Systems Engineer II will support shipboard and shore-based GCCS-M installations, configuration, troubleshooting, and operational readiness validation for Program of Record (POR) and Non-POR sites both CONUS and OCONUS.
The position requires expertise in system integration, network environments, operating systems, and C4I architectures to ensure GCCS-M systems remain fully operational and compliant with Navy cybersecurity and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
• Performing software installation of GCCS-M systems onboard U.S. naval vessels and ashore for Program of Record (POR) and Non-POR sites CONUS and OCONUS
• Performing installations using appropriate Installation Procedures (IP) and applicable Multiple Security Updates (MSU), including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of GCCS-M software to achieve fully operational system functionality
• Managing and providing system engineering services for GCCS-M implementation, maintenance, and site support, including installation and system upgrade support
• Supporting Shipboard Operational Test (SOT) events and DSGITs (Distance Support Global Integration Tests)
• Providing On-Board Technical Assistance (OBTA) including CASREP support when required
• Providing distance support for troubleshooting GCCS-M systems both underway and pier-side
• Conducting system audits and pre-deployment system checkouts of GCCS-M systems to support operational readiness
• Identifying and resolving system discrepancies impacting mission readiness
• Coordinating with shipboard personnel and technical teams to ensure successful system turnover and operational capability
• Documenting troubleshooting steps, installation procedures, and system configuration changes
• Ensuring compliance with Navy cybersecurity requirements and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
• Experience managing and providing system engineering services for GCCS-M implementation, maintenance, and site support.
• Experience conducting system audits and pre-deployment system checkouts to ensure readiness posture and resolving system discrepancies

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
• U.S Citizen
• Must possess an Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's in engineering/CS or related or 10 years of related experience
• 3 years of experience analyzing and providing GCCS-M system engineering services, including troubleshooting, documentation of issues, and implementation of solutions for C4I systems and components
• Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II Certification - CompTIA Security+ (or CySA+/CISA/CCNA Security)
• Travel may be required for up to 25% (CONUS and OCONUS).
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.

Working Conditions:
