Eiden Systems Consulting (ESC) is seeking a Network Engineer to support mission-focused government programs and critical national security systems. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain secure enterprise network infrastructure that supports high-availability operations in complex and highly regulated environments.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with enterprise routing and switching, network security technologies, and performance monitoring tools. You will work closely with cybersecurity teams, system engineers, and government stakeholders to ensure network reliability, resilience, and compliance with DoD security standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN architectures supporting mission-critical operations.
• Configure and support Cisco or Juniper routing and switching platforms in secure environments.
• Implement and maintain secure network communications, including Type 1 encryption, Site-to-Site VPNs, and DMVPN.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, or Cisco DNA Center.
• Administer and maintain enterprise firewalls and Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS).
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, IP address management (IPAM), and configuration baselines.
• Design and support redundant and high-availability network solutions to ensure system resilience.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with DoD security standards and best practices.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and support for complex networking issues across enterprise environments.
Required Qualifications
• Active Security Clearance: Top Secret with SCI (TS/SCI)
• Education: Bachelors in Computer Science, IT, Network Engineering or CyberSecurity or Associate’s degree with strong certifications and work experience
• Certifications: DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification – IAT Level II or III (Security+, CASP+, CISSP, or equivalent).
• Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering or network administration.
Technical Skills
• Experience configuring and maintaining Cisco or Juniper routing and switching infrastructure.
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, or Cisco DNA Center.
• Hands-on experience administering enterprise firewalls and IDS/IPS technologies.
• Knowledge of secure networking protocols and encrypted communications.
• Experience maintaining network documentation, configuration management, and IP address planning.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across network devices.
• Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and NIST 800-53 security controls.
• Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community (IC) environments.
• Familiarity with high-security or classified network environments.
