Engineer What's Next in El Segundo, CA

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking engineers and technical professionals to contribute to the future of space, national security, and mission-critical innovation. Our teams in El Segundo support government, civil space, and national security customers by providing technical expertise, objective analysis, and mission-focused engineering solutions across the program lifecycle. These roles help connect highly skilled engineers to technical organizations delivering trusted guidance and innovation for some of the nation's most important space and defense missions.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Apply engineering knowledge across one or more targeted areas, including systems engineering, program management, communications and PNT, electronics and sensors, software and data engineering, data science and AI/ML, cybersecurity, flight vehicle systems, and mechanical systems and materials.
  • Support technical analysis, requirements development, integration, testing, modeling, evaluation, or execution activities that help customers solve complex mission challenges.
  • Partner with customer-facing and program teams in El Segundo to support space and national security mission priorities.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to translate mission needs into actionable engineering solutions and informed technical recommendations.
  • Operate Strategically to understand broader mission objectives, align technical work to program priorities, and anticipate downstream impacts.
  • Engage with Impact and Leads Change to build trusted relationships, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and help teams adopt improved approaches, tools, or processes.
  • Foster Innovation and Deliver Results to identify new ideas, improve mission outcomes, and deliver high-quality products, analysis, or recommendations in support of customer success.


What You Need to Be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, computer science, data science, physics, mathematics, or another applicable STEM discipline.
  • Typically, 5+ years of relevant experience in one or more broad engineering or mission-focused technical fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems, analyze data, develop recommendations, and contribute to mission-oriented outcomes.
  • Experience working collaboratively on cross-functional teams and communicating technical concepts to peers, leadership, and/or customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work with appropriate attention to detail, and adapt in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Some positions aligned to this hiring event may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required for positions requiring a security clearance.


How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • An advanced degree in an applicable STEM discipline.
  • Prior experience supporting space, defense, intelligence, research and development, acquisition, or other mission-critical technical environments.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the targeted event skill areas and a demonstrated record of technical impact.
  • An active TS/SCI clearance or TS/SCI with CI polygraph for opportunities requiring immediate mission access.
  • Experience influencing technical decisions, improving processes, mentoring others, or helping teams deliver measurable results.
