Tensley Consulting is seeking a Modeling, Simulation, and Technical Analyst (MSTA) - Level 3 to support the distributed TechSIGINT mission. The selected candidate will apply analytic methods, mathematical models, simulations, and technical assessments to evaluate foreign systems, platforms, and technologies.
This role involves developing, adapting, or applying models and simulations to characterize system performance, behavior, capabilities, limitations, and vulnerabilities. The analyst will assess model assumptions, validity, and limitations, and integrate results into broader intelligence assessments and operational decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Apply mathematical, statistical, or physics-based models to analyze foreign systems, platforms, or technologies
- Develop, adapt, validate, or use simulations to assess system performance, behavior, capabilities, limitations, or vulnerabilities
- Translate real-world system behavior into analytic models or simulations suitable for intelligence analysis or mission decision support
- Assess model assumptions, inputs, limitations, and uncertainties and evaluate their impact on analytic conclusions
- Integrate modeling and simulation outputs with SIGINT, FISINT, ELINT, or other analytic products to support intelligence assessments
- Develop or use analytic tools, scripts, or software supporting modeling, simulation, or technical analysis
- Document modeling methodologies and communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Education/Expierience
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or another technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
Twenty (20) years of experience supporting modeling and simulation technical analysis is required. Eighteen (18) years of experience may be accepted with a Master's degree in a related technical discipline. Sixteen (16) years of experience may be accepted with a Ph.D. in a related technical discipline. Twenty-three (23) years of relevant experience may be substituted in place of a degree. Candidates must have a minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience with MVS/TRP and VS/TRP-RWB or GFP and GFP-RWB, regardless of degree.
Salary: $185,000-$200,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position, but is not guaranteed. Salary is based on experience, location and contractual requirements which could fall outside of the range listed.
