Software Engineer — Site Reliability (L4–L6) Tensley Consulting, Inc. — Annapolis Junction, MD On-Site, Hybrid, or Remote | Active Security Clearance Required (TS/SCI with Polygraph preferred) About the Company Tensley Consulting provides mission‑critical infrastructure engineering for the U.S. Intelligence Community and DoD. We build and operate identity, networking, compliance, and platform services across Microsoft GCC High, Google Cloud, and Entra ID. Our work emphasizes reliability, zero‑trust principles, and treating infrastructure as software: everything is code-reviewed, tested, and deployed through automated pipelines. The Role This is a hands-on software engineering role focused on building, operating, and modernizing cloud infrastructure in government environments. What You’ll Do Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform and custom automation/services (Go, C#, C/C++, Python, PowerShell, etc.). Build solutions to bridge gaps in government cloud platforms when vendor support is lacking. Work in a GitOps model where all changes go through peer review and follow strong code quality standards. Integrate compliance controls (CMMC L2/L3) directly into infrastructure. Support application teams in modernizing deployments. Build monitoring/observability systems and participate in on‑call. Reduce operational toil through automation. Required Qualifications Active security clearance (TS/SCI with Polygraph preferred; Secret/TS considered). Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience contributing to a compiled language codebase. Proficiency with Terraform (modules, remote state, debugging). Ability to work across multiple languages and toolchains. Experience with at least one government cloud (GCC High, Azure Gov, Google Cloud). Strong Git skills and comfort with merge workflows.
