Raytheon Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) is seeking a Chief Engineer for our Raytheon Multi-program Testbed (RMT) to join our Flight Test Operations (FTO) team. This position is based at our R27 hangar in Ontario, CA and includes occasional FTO travel to El Segundo, CA and Tucson, AZ. This role oversees RMT engineering in support of RTX flight test programs and works closely with using program engineering and technical leads. This role is responsible for RMT technical integrity and resolving technical challenges to enable successful flight test execution. This role also leads The RMT CE requires daily contact with multiple functions to provide technical leadership, guidance, and customer interface. The role also leads working groups, presentations, task progress updates, and technical meetings with contractors and personnel to provide our customers with system solutions.
We support multiple functions in the planning and execution of manned flight test missions. Responsibilities include coordination with engineering and maintenance, subject matter expertise on our flight test planning, mission execution, flight operations support, and coordinating logistics for flight test deployments. This position is an onsite role and can be based in either Ontario, California or Tucson, Arizona with occasional travel to support Raytheon Flight Test Operations.

The salary range for this role is 145,600 USD - 276,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. What You Will Do
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for RMT modification, test systems integration, approval process for flight test execution
- Requirements development, originating Systems Test procedures for I&T, V&V; and unit/module procedures for Special Test Equipment (STE)
- Oversight if hardware and software integration plus system verification efforts for efficient integration, test, and sell-off
- Lead technical point of contact for FTO flight test engineering
- Chair aircraft modification re readiness evaluations and coordinate customer airworthiness audits.
- Lead mission planning, coordination briefings, and contribute to test reporting.
- Integrate aircraft maintenance, engineering, and operations activities to meet RTX flight test program milestones.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience decomposing specifications to system performance, interface, I&T, and V&V requirements
- Experience with Integration and Test procedures; troubleshooting lab and system/software/HW stability issues; and developing solutions to the problems
Qualifications We Prefer
- Masters degree in STEM
- Proven technical competence in a complex system development environment
- Expertise in test methodologies, system architectures, and leading complex system troubleshooting
- Expertise in flight test systems design, integration, test, verification and validation, and Special Test Equipment
- Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Experience working classified and SAP programs.
