Position Overview

Edgesource is seeking a Hardware Technician to support our hardware team at Fort Huachuca, AZ. The Hardware Technician provides technical support for computers and associated networks, installs and troubleshoots hardware and software, and supports the organization's IT infrastructure.

Job Duties
  • Provide technical support for computers and associated networks.
  • Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers, network equipment (servers, modems, multiplexers), related PC software, telephones, cables, and connectors.
  • Provide hardware and software support for personal computers.
  • Install, service, and repair personal computers and attendant software.
  • Connect personal computers and terminals to existing data networks.
  • Maintain network diagrams and circuit records.
  • Maintain trouble logs.
  • Instruct users in the use of personal computers and networks.
  • Investigate information, network, and communications needs of users and make recommendations regarding software and hardware purchases.
  • Perform basic PC software programming.
  • Document and maintain inventories of customer-owned equipment.

  • Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
  • General application of concepts and principles.
  • Demonstrated skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks.

  • Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.


Discretion/Latitude
  • Works under only very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.


Impact
  • Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals. Errors in judgement or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure of resources to rectify.


Liaison
  • Frequent internal company and external contacts. Represents the organization on specific projects and may make presentations to small groups.


Required Qualifications
  • AA or other 2-year technical degree in a related discipline and 6 years related experience.
  • Must have at least a Top-Secret clearance to start, with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret/SCI.
  • Security+ certification.
