We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Software Engineer with Subject Matter Expertise (SME)-level skills to lead the reengineering of an existing Security Workflow application built on Java/Spring Boot into an enterprise ServiceNow platform. This role requires a self-driven leader who possesses deep technical knowledge of ServiceNow and is capable of migrating applications and data from legacy technical stacks into ServiceNow. The ideal candidate will serve as the Team Lead for this high-impact initiative and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
- Project Leadership
- Serve as the technical Team Lead for the migration project, providing guidance to developers and ensuring successful delivery
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define timelines, deliverables, and resource requirements
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for the migration effort, ensuring alignment with business objectives and enterprise standards
- Migration & Reengineering
- Lead the migration of the existing Security Workflow application from Java/Spring Boot into ServiceNow
- Architect and design workflows, data models, integration points, and reports to ensure the migrated solution meets business and security requirements
- Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with data conversion, process redesign, and legacy system decommissioning
- Develop customized applications, workflows, and scripts using ServiceNow tools and capabilities
- ServiceNow Expertise
- Leverage advanced knowledge of ServiceNow's platform capabilities
- Optimize ServiceNow development to enhance scalability, performance, and compliance with enterprise standards
- Implement role-based security, auditing, and governance mechanisms using ServiceNow best practices
- Data Migration
- Analyze and prepare legacy system data for migration, ensuring data integrity and consistency during the transition process
- Design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, including mapping legacy system entities to ServiceNow tables
- Collaborate with database specialists to ensure accurate data migration while minimizing downtime
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with security, development, and functional teams to understand existing workflows and provide tailored solutions
- Document requirements, designs, test plans, and deployment processes for the reengineered application
- Communicate progress and challenges effectively to stakeholders and manage expectations
- TS/SCI FSP Clearance
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, including 3+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow
- Strong proficiency in ServiceNow development (e.g., workflows, client/server scripts, UI policies, and integrations)
- Proven track record of migrating legacy applications and data into ServiceNow, ideally from Java-based systems such as Spring Boot
- Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, AngularJS, or ServiceNow Glide API
- Prior experience leading development teams or acting as a technical lead on enterprise-level migration projects
- Ability to mentor junior developers and provide hands-on support for technical challenges
- ServiceNow certifications (e.g., CSA, CAD, or CIS in Security Operations)
- Prior experience with enterprise security workflow systems
- Familiarity with ITIL processes
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and migration strategies
