Compass Point Federal (Compass Point), an Akima Company, is looking for a Program Analyst to support a contract supporting a mission-oriented, Law Enforcement organization in National Capital Region. This individual will serve as a part of a team delivering scientific and engineering capabilities to organizations and operational users. The responsibilities also include supporting key initiatives to assist the client and/or Compass Point to identify opportunities and maximize value gained from new investigative technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and/or support the analysis and evaluation of program in achieving targeted objective.
  • Perform and/or support the recommendations, development, testing and implementation of changes to program objectives, operations, and resource usage in an effort to resolve problems, to provide balanced program operations, and to achieve maximum effectiveness.
  • Maintain, gather, and compile records of resource use and availability, performance measurements, and management indicators.
  • Maintain journals or subsidiary ledgers of an accounting system and balance and reconciles accounts.
  • Verify information, ensuring sufficient funds are available and have been obligated.
  • Attend meetings and brief management officials on the status of funding obligations and payments.
  • Prepare general correspondence such as memoranda, letters, electronic messages, requisition forms, and a variety of Department of Justice, and other government forms.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience the development and monitoring of business or public policies and procedures designed to provide management control of system development activities, included analysis of current procedures and policies to determine continued applicability or
  • A minimum of 3 years in the accounting, budget, or finance functions that included a minimum of 2 years of experience in financial and management structure, operations, and corporate fiscal resources.
  • Bachelor's Degree in any field preferably with field of major study in finance, business administration, economics, accounting, mathematics. An additional 2 years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Candidates should have detailed knowledge of:
    • Program Management: Experience with DOJ program management processes, DOJ operations, federal government budgeting and procurement, performance measurement, full life-cycle management and risk assessment.
    • Administrative Support: Information processing normally found in typical office operations to include word processing, data processing, electronic mail, graphics production, voice transmissions, information storage/retrieval/transfer using local area networks or other types of system linkages.
    • Financial Management: Day-to-day tracking of expenditures; develop and provide data for use in budget formulation, obligation of funds and management reports.
      Acquisition Support Services: Review acquisition request, prepare supportive documentation, conduct research, and present findings.
