Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a passionate and talented Frontend Software Engineer to be focused on architecting, developing, and maintaining these solutions.
This position will have a hybrid work schedule and may require working onsite periodically in Suffolk, VA at the Joint Staff Complex.
Essential Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Will be expected to build and improve large software by working with a Product Owner, Scrum Master, and other Engineers by translating functional requirements into robust, scalable, and supportable solutions.
- Will participate in the full development lifecycle and actively troubleshoot issues in support of applications in production critical environments.
- Should be eager and willing to train new Associate Software Engineers and provide support to other Engineers on the team.
- Will also be expected to quickly learn and adapt to our development processes, practices, and environments.
- Will need to quickly dive into and glean an understanding of the system architecture and after time, be able to assist other Senior Engineers and System Architects in providing suggestions to the overall design and direction of our system architecture.
• Strong logical thinking skills and development fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structure, algorithm, design, and complexity analysis.
• Extensive knowledge of web-based runtime environments such as NodeJS and modern web application frameworks such as ReactJS
• Highly proficient in modern Javascript.
• Proficient in Playwright, Cypress, or similar frontend integration testing tools.
• Knowledge of best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• A fast learner with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• A sound understanding of functional programming principles, object-oriented design, data structures, and software design patterns.
Required Skills & Experience
-Strong logical thinking skills and software development fundamentals, including:
Object‑oriented design
Data structures and algorithms
Software design patterns and complexity analysis
-Extensive knowledge of web‑based runtime environments such as Node.js
-Experience with modern frontend frameworks, particularly React.js
-High proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+)
-Experience with frontend integration and end‑to‑end testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or similar
-Knowledge of best practices across the full software development lifecycle, including:
Coding standards
Code reviews
Source control
Build and CI/CD processes
Testing and operational support
-Solid understanding of functional programming principles in addition to object‑oriented design
Compensation:
$45/hr to $52hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
