The Opportunity:

The Physical Security Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) provides dedicated, daily onsite security oversight in direct support of the Department of the Air Force's Enterprise IT as a Service (EITaaS) initiative. As EITaaS continues to modernize and transform the Air Force's enterprise IT environment, this role ensures that all classified and secure spaces supporting the program maintain continuous compliance with DAF security directives, accreditation requirements, and mission protection standards. Operating across two key EITaaS hubs-Chantilly, VA and Oklahoma City, OK-the ISSE maintains persistent situational awareness of secure facility operations, enabling uninterrupted mission execution. This position ensures that all physical, procedural, and secure space controls remain aligned with DAF policy, DoD security frameworks, and program-specific accreditation baselines essential to sustaining EITaaS operational readiness.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain daily oversight of secure-space operations at CWA and OKC, ensuring continuous alignment with Department of the Air Force EITaaS mission requirements and full compliance with DCSA physical security standards, DAF secure-space governance, and all accreditation conditions supporting enterprise IT modernization.
  • Coordinate with building security, government security officials, and EITaaS program personnel to sustain a stable, compliant, and mission-aligned secure-space environment in support of Department of the Air Force enterprise IT operations. Maintain readiness to execute DAF emergency response actions and ensure uninterrupted continuity of EITaaS services during security events, facility disruptions, or mission-impacting incidents.
  • Support the development, refinement, and enforcement of Department of the Air Force and EITaaS enterprise security policies, standards, and implementation guidance. Ensure all governance artifacts align with DAF cybersecurity directives, DoD security frameworks, and EITaaS program requirements that shape how secure enterprise IT services are delivered, operated, and sustained across the Air Force.
  • Manage physical access for employees, visitors, and contractors in support of Department of the Air Force EITaaS operations, including issuing and revoking credentials, maintaining accurate access records, and enforcing DAF-mandated escort and accountability procedures to protect mission-critical secure spaces.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready records of all secure-space access activities to support Department of the Air Force governance and EITaaS mission requirements. Assist the ISSO in collecting, organizing, and validating security artifacts required for DAF and DCSA accreditation packages, ATO sustainment, and ongoing compliance activities.
  • Provide coordinated security support to both the CWA and OKC EITaaS facilities, ensuring a unified, mission-aligned security posture across geographically separated Department of the Air Force locations and maintaining consistent implementation of DAF and program-level security requirements.
  • Travel to the OKC EITaaS site as required to support Department of the Air Force inspections, audits, accreditation activities, and operational mission needs, ensuring consistent security posture and readiness across both program locations.
  • Manage COMSEC material for the CWA and OKC EITaaS sites, ensuring full accountability, distribution control, and safeguarding of TACLANEs, vIPer phones, and cryptographic keying material. Enforce all Department of the Air Force and NSA COMSEC policies, promote proper handling and storage practices, and ensure timely reporting and documentation to maintain mission-ready secure communications capabilities.
  • Monitor server-room environmental conditions at CWA and OKC, including temperature alerts, humidity levels, and equipment health, to ensure mission-ready infrastructure that supports Department of the Air Force EITaaS operations and prevents disruptions to critical enterprise IT services.
  • Respond to security alarms during and after business hours, including physical response to the secure space when required, to ensure continuous protection of Department of the Air Force assets and uninterrupted support to EITaaS mission operations.
  • Serve as the onsite point of contact for all CWA security matters, managing visitor control, contractor escort into the secure space, and access authorization in alignment with Department of the Air Force and EITaaS security requirements to safeguard mission-critical environments and ensure consistent secure-space governance.
  • Oversee issuance, tracking, secure storage, and lifecycle management of SecureView devices across both CWA and OKC facilities. Maintain user agreements, custody logs, and accountability records for all assigned personnel to ensure compliance with Department of the Air Force and EITaaS security and asset-management requirements.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to maintain eligibility for continued access to classified systems, secure facilities, and mission-critical environments in support of Department of the Air Force and EITaaS program requirements.
  • 12+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor's Degree in relevant field may be substituted for 5 years of relevant experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in physical security, secure-facility operations, or classified program support within a DoD, Intelligence Community, or defense-industry environment, with demonstrated familiarity supporting Department of the Air Force mission needs and enterprise-level programs such as EITaaS.
  • Hands-on experience operating and maintaining secure spaces (SIPR-accredited rooms and Open Storage areas), including daily operations, access control, and compliance with DCSA and Department of the Air Force requirements to support mission-critical EITaaS activities.
  • Proficiency with physical security standards such as DoDM 5205.07 Vol. 1-4, ICD 705, DoDM 5105.21, and DCSA Assessment & Authorization criteria, with the ability to apply these requirements within Department of the Air Force and EITaaS secure-facility operations.
  • Familiarity with COMSEC procedures, keying-material handling, and secure-equipment lifecycle management, with the ability to apply NSA, DCSA, and Department of the Air Force requirements across EITaaS mission environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage leadership and government officials, demonstrating sound judgment, professionalism, and the highest standards of ethics in all security-related interactions.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with DCSA, government security officials, and internal stakeholders to maintain accreditation, address compliance findings, and ensure continuous alignment with Department of the Air Force and EITaaS security requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate records, documentation, and audit-ready security artifacts in support of Department of the Air Force and EITaaS program requirements.
