Join a high‑impact High Performance Computing (HPC) Research & Development program supporting advanced scientific and mission‑driven workloads. You will be part of the Technical User Support (TUS) team working directly with researchers, mission users, the TUS Lead, and the program’s Chief Scientist to accelerate “time to science.” This environment includes MLS-enabled HPC platforms and the enterprise MLS configuration team supporting the Centralized Supercomputing Facility (CSCF).

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SE Linux‑based MLS Systems Administrator SME to support enterprise MLS configurations and HPC environments. You will configure and maintain SE Linux systems, develop and debug MLS policies, support kernel‑level troubleshooting, and collaborate directly with HPC users to optimize performance, parallelization, and code efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Administer SE Linux and MLS environments across HPC and R&D systems.
Develop and maintain SE Linux policies, MAC labeling, and secure MLS configurations.
Debug kernel and SE Linux issues using logs, source review, crash utilities, and systemtap.
Manage Satellite repositories, apply patches, and build custom kernels as required.
Automate configuration, patching, and lifecycle management using Ansible and Satellite Server.
Support MLS FreeIPA, MLS networking, and identity management services.
Develop scripts using Bourne/Bash and Expect for system automation.
Work directly with HPC users to port, optimize, and parallelize scientific applications.
Troubleshoot user workloads, job failures, and system-level performance issues.
Collaborate with the TUS Lead, Chief Scientist, and on‑site customer to improve system usability and throughput.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AIS, or related field, plus 10+ years of relevant experience.
At least 5 years of experience developing system software in multi‑platform environments.
Strong proficiency in SE Linux, MLS configurations, policy development, MAC labeling, and security contexts.
Experience debugging kernel-level issues and policy-related failures.
Proficiency with Bourne/Bash and Expect scripting.
Experience with Red Hat Satellite repository management and custom kernel builds.
Familiarity with Ansible and Satellite Server for automated configuration and patching.
Understanding of LDAP and token-based authentication systems.
Ability to work on-site with HPC users in a secure R&D setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in HPC or scientific computing environments.
Familiarity with performance tuning, parallel computing, or workload optimization.
Experience with large-scale RHEL deployments and enterprise environments.
Understanding of secure architectures, MLS constraints, or cross-domain data practices.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse user groups.

Clearance Requirements
