As a Sr. Business Process Engineer III, you'll analyze and optimize the operational processes that power mission-critical communications and technology services, with the goal of driving measurable impact across the federal government. Our engineering and operations division is responsible for ensuring secure, reliable, and highly available systems that support essential government functions, and you'll strengthen that mission by streamlining workflows, improving operational efficiency, and implementing standardized procedures and performance metrics that enhance incident response and long-term service reliability.

What you'll do:
  • Analyze operational workflows across engineering, cybersecurity, and service support teams to identify process gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Map, document, and standardize operational processes supporting mission-critical communications and IT services
  • Evaluate incident response, escalation, and service request workflows to improve response times and operational efficiency
  • Facilitate working sessions with engineering and operations teams to refine procedures and implement improved workflows
  • Develop process maps, SOPs, playbooks, and operational documentation supporting technical operations
  • Define and track operational metrics and performance indicators that measure service reliability and operational effectiveness
  • Analyze ticketing, monitoring, and operational data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate process improvements with technical leads and program leadership to ensure seamless operational integration
  • Capture lessons learned from incidents and operational events and incorporate improvements into standard procedures
  • Provide recommendations to leadership that strengthen operational readiness, reliability, and mission continuity

What you'll need to succeed:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to operate in a highly secure, mission-critical government environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline. Additional relevant experience may substitute for degree requirements.
  • 10+ years of experience in business process engineering, operational process improvement, or service delivery optimization supporting enterprise IT or mission operations environments
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and improving operational workflows supporting engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, or service operations teams
  • Experience developing process documentation, SOPs, operational playbooks, and workflow diagrams (BPMN, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools)
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional operational improvement initiatives involving engineering, operations, and leadership stakeholders
  • Familiarity with IT operations environments utilizing monitoring, observability, and ticketing platforms (e.g., Splunk, SolarWinds, Jira, or similar systems)
  • Experience improving incident management, escalation workflows, or operational response processes
  • Ability to develop and track operational performance metrics and service delivery KPIs
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical workflows into standardized operational processes

SALARY RANGE: $165,000 - $207,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:
  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
    • Performance-based bonuses
    • Company-paid training and/or certifications
    • Referral bonuses
