Responsibilities
- The applicant will help define military Nuclear Delivery System (NDS) scope, requirements, configurations, and identify, track, and quantify technical, cost, and schedule risks in a science and technology environment.
- The applicant will be responsible for analyzing IPMDAR, IMS, and other CDRL deliverables for nuclear delivery defense acquisition projects and delivering analytical insights to government customers.
- Applicant will demonstrate expertise in Federal Government acquisition processes and provide expert level acquisition products and guidance to program teams.
- Applicant will be responsible for understanding EVM and schedule estimating, substantiation of confidence level generation, and schedule/prediction analysis and using insights to inform advice and assistance to program teams.
- This position will provide leadership for the analyst cadre supporting AFRL NDS.
- This position has daily interfaces with government personnel, prime contractors, and occasional travel to other government and contractor facilities.
- Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicles Directorate
- The AFRL/RV is located at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. It serves as the Air Force's center of excellence for space technology research and development, focusing on space-based capabilities such as intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, space situational awareness, communications, defensive space control, and nuclear delivery systems. The Directorate consists of an integrated team of military, civilian, and on-site contractors.
- AFRL executes the Science and Technology appropriations of the Department of the Air Force (DAF).
Skills Required
- Applicant must have an expert understanding of the Department of War (DoW) acquisition system, project management processes, and practical application of DoW contracting principles.
- Applicants must have a strong understanding of PPBES, system engineering, subsystem technical relationships, engineering trades, technology development and risk and system maturity.
- Applicants must be proficient in performing WBS development and risk analysis.
- Applicants should have a working knowledge of earned value management, project scheduling, and M/S Project. Proficiency with M/S office applications required, i.e., Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent verbal communication, written, and quantitative analytical skills required.
- U.S. citizenship required. Secret security clearance required, Top Secret desirable.
- Education Required: Master's Degree (B/S) in Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Statistics.
- Certifications: Professional certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Project Scheduling Professional (PSP), Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCEA), Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or similar credentials highly desired. (CCEA or CCP may substitute for a Master's Degree if candidate possesses a Bachelor's in an appropriate field of study.)
