Software Engineer

The Sponsor requires support to directly assist the Program Manager with operational support, database support, collaboration with other operational teams, briefing customers, and development and execution of strategy for complex technical solutions that are widely used and relied upon. The work will be performed within a team environment. The Sponsor needs polished skills in concept development and execution while managing a moderate, fast-paced workload.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Sponsor team as well as corporate and community-wide customers; however, the Sponsor Project Manager will manage the priorities
• Develop mobile applications and be proficient with both Android and iOS app development
• Work with customers to translate operational needs into technical requirements
• Track program progress, risks, issues, and dependencies
• Serve as a geospatial technology and mobile SME
• Support technical meetings with vendors to communicate program and mission requirements
• Provide technical advice and direction based on practical knowledge of mobile phone hardware, mobile operating systems (Android/iOS), software (commercial, FOSS (Free Open Source Software), and GOTS (Gov't Off the Shelf)), and security mechanisms
• Interact with the Sponsor's Enterprise teams to integrate Sponsor's geospatial mission data within a common, enterprise web application, to include system administration, database administration, file, and access management functions using Amazon EC2, S3, and related services

Requirements

• TS/SCI FSP Clearance
• Demonstrated experience with strong knowledge of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) applications and services
• Demonstrated experience developing mobile applications targeted for Android/iOS devices
• Demonstrated experience working with small teams to manage software development activities
• Demonstrated experience working with customers to define functional requirements, concept of operations, and UI/UX design
• Demonstrated experience managing iterative software development releases
• Demonstrated experience tracking development sprints using JIRA
• Demonstrated experience managing source code in Github and Gitlab
• Demonstrated experience with containerization and orchestration with experience building, deploying, and managing scalable Docker images across production environments
• Demonstrated experience developing test plans
• Demonstrated experience providing technical support and training
• Demonstrated experience in software engineering and development
• Demonstrated experience with Visual Studio Code, Android Studio, Xcode, Nodejs, and Javascript
