In Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We are excited to announce an opportunity for an AIM-9X Platform Integration and Capture Engineer to join our team in Tucson, AZ. In this role, you will contribute to the critical process of ensuring all system components meet required specifications and performance standards prior to delivery.

SE&TC integrates, verifies, and validates our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, develop flight test requirements, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.

This role is expected to bridge multiple contracts across both air and surface launched vehicles. NASAMS will be your primary focus, but AIM-9X has numerous contracts in flight test that this role would be expected to fulfill. In addition, as the Capture Engineer, you will be responsible for customer engagement with the business development team to bring in new and exciting initiatives to integrate the AIM-9X. The position is located onsite in Tucson Arizona.

What You Will Do:
  • Perform field testing and occasional travel for durations typically for one- or two-weeks at a time
  • Responsible for overseeing integration activities on current contracts as the platform integration Subject Matter Expert
  • Participate in new business initiatives to include bidding/proposal efforts as well as customer demonstrations and technical discussions
  • Effectively communicate current program hardware obsolescence plans, required platform integration activities for replacement variants, and technical capabilities on the horizon in a way that will excite customers to continue AIM-9X purchases.
  • Work with the business development team to identify new opportunities for AIM-9X globally
  • Drive missile demand through expansion of supported launch vehicles

  • Coordinate with PMA-259 to address and fulfill upcoming needs of the program to ensure ability for timely capture of new contracts as they are presented
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires bachelor's degree (BS) in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), other degrees considered based on experience
  • A minimum of eight (8) years prior relevant engineering experience in the discipline aligning with leadership position
  • Platform Integration/Flight Test experience including previous field testing experience
  • Strong understanding of import/export requirements of technical and ITAR information.
  • Expertise in 1553 message requirements between weapons and aircraft platforms.


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Strong understanding of MATLAB, LINUX, and data analysis of weapon telemetry
  • A strong advocate for process improvement
  • Cost Account Manager (CAM) experience and certification
  • Experience communicating with both domestic and international customers.
  • Proven history of ability to executing high visibility tests
  • Previous mentoring of junior platform integration engineers in their current role and what is expected of them to progress in their careers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage time and resources to consistently meet demanding schedules
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and dynamic environment
  • Experience with MATLAB and 1760 Interface
  • Experience with fighter aircraft weapons testing
  • Ability to get and maintain Special Access Program clearance

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
