Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Platform Network Engineer to support mission-critical systems and next-generation satellite data management capabilities in a highly secure environment. This role focuses on enterprise network administration, implementation, troubleshooting, and modernization, supporting systems operating in an evolving threat landscape.
The ideal candidate brings strong Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking expertise, hands-on experience with Cisco-based network systems, and a solid Linux system administration background. This role requires close collaboration with system, platform, and security teams to ensure performance, scalability, and resilience across complex computing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, implement, and support scalable enterprise network solutions using industry best practices.
Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network systems.
Support network designs and development activities with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
Utilize Linux command-line tools to deploy updates and configuration changes across network devices.
Configure and support switches, routers, and firewalls in Cisco-based environments.
Provide guidance on network resource allocation, utilization, and optimization.
Perform proactive and reactive network troubleshooting to mitigate and prevent system issues.
Support installation, integration, and test activities at customer sites as required.
Collaborate within Agile teams and participate in system development and modernization efforts.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), including Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Physics.
Minimum 5 years of relevant network engineering experience.
Strong experience with Linux system administration (RHEL 6.0 or later).
Experience supporting VMware and virtualized environments.
Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within 90 days of start.
Active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance required on day one.
U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced experience configuring, deploying, and supporting enterprise network systems, including:
Cisco (IOS, Nexus, ASA)
Brocade
Strong troubleshooting experience at Layer 2 and Layer 3.
Firewall implementation and security policy experience.
Scripting experience:
Python (preferred)
Bash / Shell
Experience integrating with identity, access, and authorization systems (PKI, LDAP).
Experience working in Agile development environments (Scrum, SAFe).
Experience using network scanning or security assessment tools.
Basic experience with automation frameworks.
