Additional information
- As an Interior Designer you will serve as a technical specialist in interior design (FFE and SID) for projects designed by the Middle East District or architectural-engineering (A-E) firms under Government contract.
- Responsible for making the final detailed check and review of the work; recommendations for technical sufficiency; coordination of details and design features; and adherence to design criteria and established policy.
- Responsible for design of projects which are extensive in scope and complexity, requiring skill, ingenuity, creativity, and/or knowledge of advanced principles, techniques, and procedures.
- Analyze, edit, and coordinate any request for design or construction changes of any size or cost after award of contract.
- Assist architects and engineers in preparation of contract documents, which include drawings, specifications, and design analysis for a variety of complex military and civil facilities.
- Make field trips to overseas project sites to advise on the feasibility and scope of improvements to existing facilities, from the standpoint of existing practices, materials, and cost considerations.
- Keep abreast of development and use of new materials, their cost and fabrication through literature published by manufacturers, news articles, and contacts with manufacturers, reports, and recommendations concerning use of such materials.
- Prepare Comprehensive Interior Design (CID) packages inclusive of both Structural Interior Design (SID) and Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FFE) packages.
Conditions of employment
