*Candidate must be local to the DC, Maryland, or Northern Virginia area. *
Description:
The ideal candidate would be a highly motivated and skilled Linux System Administrator to support enterprise applications and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering Linux systems and supporting application deployments across Cloud Infrastructures. Experience with Java, Oracle APEX, and Oracle Database is a plus.
Responsibilities:
-Administer and support Linux operating systems in on-premise and cloud environments (AWS and OCI).
-Manage application deployments and troubleshoot issues across multiple environments.
-Monitor system performance and ensure high availability, scalability, and security of applications.
-Collaborate with development, database, and security teams to optimize system performance and reliability.
-Assist with system patching, upgrades, automation, and compliance efforts.
-Document system configurations, deployment processes, and troubleshooting steps.
Qualifications:
-Solid background in Linux system administration (Red Hat or Oracle Linux preferred).
-Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a plus
-Familiarity with Java application deployment and basic troubleshooting.
-Experience with Oracle APEX and Oracle Database administration or development.
-Understanding of networking, storage, and security best practices in both on-premise and cloud environments.
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-oriented environment.
Clearance:
Active/current TS/SCI with Poly required
Education & Experience:
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in system or application administration, including cloud exposure.
-Minimum Sys2 Privileged Access
-COMPTIA Sec+ CE certification
