Salary- $190k-225k/yr

Overview

Provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. This role manages IT system infrastructure and all processes related to system operations. Responsibilities include day?to?day system support, monitoring, and problem resolution across client/server/storage/network environments and mobile devices. The position also provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, assists with escalation and communication to agency leadership, and remains engaged in resolving dispatch system and hardware issues.

The System Administrator configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems, installs and loads operating system software, troubleshoots and maintains network component integrity, and implements operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  
• Deliver Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  
• Manage daily configuration and operational activities of IT systems.
  
• Assist users in accessing and using IT systems.
  
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  
• Support day?to?day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
  
• Support escalation processes and communicate status updates to agency management and internal customers.
  
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization; perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  
• Provide in?depth troubleshooting expertise for IT systems.
  
• Deliver detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  
• Support dispatch system and hardware issue resolution, remaining engaged throughout the process.
  
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems; install and load operating system software; troubleshoot and maintain network component integrity; implement OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  
• Support the design of systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware.
  
• Possess working knowledge of system administration interdependencies within a Service?Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  
• Analyze and resolve complex issues related to server hardware, applications, and software integration.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  
  • Five (5) additional years of System Administrator experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
• Fifteen (15) years of experience as a System Administrator supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Additional Required Skills

• Five (5) years of experience installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and using system security tools, including:
  
  • Container security
    
  • Virtual machine security
    
  • Security boundary enforcement
    
  • Configuration management
    
  • Security reporting tools
• Five (5) years of experience with ELK, Tripwire, VMware, and the Red Hat SELinux security tool suite is strongly preferred.
