Akima Data Management is currently seeking Security Specialist (RTP/OPSEC) to join the team.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for security functions focused on protecting the Agency's critical information through OPSEC and Science and Technology (S&T) Protection.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Operations Security (OPSEC), with a strong understanding of fundamental security principles, concepts, policies, and procedures.
  • Incorporate research, development, and acquisition of cutting-edge technologies and operational techniques utilized by SOF units.
  • Support and implement OPSEC programs, including conducting assessments or surveys.
  • Develop and maintain processes to identify and mitigate indicators of U.S. intentions, capabilities, operations, and activities.
  • Advise leadership on countermeasures to deny adversaries access to critical information.
  • Provide security support for Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) and Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) efforts.
  • Consult with Program and Project Managers to create and implement Research and Technology Protection (RTP) policies and guidelines.
  • Conduct security reviews of contracts and awards with academic institutions, national laboratories, and research centers.
  • Utilize Open-Source tools and methods for analysis to identify trends, patterns, and associations.
  • Conduct analysis to support due diligence for vendors and researchers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external agency analysts (e.g., All-Source, CI).
  • Plan, track, and participate in S&T Protection working groups.
  • Prepare and present briefings and reports to leadership as required.
  • Provide OPSEC training and support to the Public Affairs Office and other parts of the organization as required.
  • Knowledge of Operations Security (OPSEC), intelligence analysis, and fundamental security principles.
  • Ability to support and implement OPSEC programs, including conducting assessments or surveys.
  • Knowledge and experience working on Special Access Programs (SAP) and Alternate Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM) protected programs in support of Special Operations Forces (SOF).
  • Understanding of processes to identify and mitigate indicators of U.S. intentions, capabilities, operations, and activities.
  • Familiarity with providing security support for Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) and Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) efforts.
  • Experience advising on countermeasures to deny adversaries access to critical information.
  • Ability to support the development and implementation of Research and Technology Protection (RTP) policies.
  • Knowledge of open-source analysis tools and methods for due diligence and trend analysis.
  • Possess effective writing and communication skills for preparing and presenting briefings and reports to leadership.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external agency analysts.

Qualifications

  • Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility required.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred; however, an associate's degree with additional relevant experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of analytical experience or experience supporting an OPSEC program.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience supporting Special Operations Forces (SOF) intelligence operations or in SOF assignments is preferred.
  • Completion of the OPSEC Awareness for Military Members, DoD Employees, and Contractors Course (GS130.16) or an equivalent is required.
