Job Description
The Building People has an opening for a Budget Analyst to support with the Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation. The Budget Analyst will have an extensive working knowledge of the concepts for evaluating, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing programmatic support and control systems.

As part of this support, the Budget Analyst will:

  • Support Federal personnel, as needed, to enter funding actions into financial tracking and reporting systems, such as CMEI's Corporate Planning System (CPS). CPS actions are to be generated within one day of notification from the government.
  • Assist with developing and updating spreadsheets for the purpose of tracking and reporting various financial data, and provide spreadsheets or reports as required/requested
  • R etrieve reports from various Government financial business systems, including Standard Accounting and Reporting System (STARS), iPORTAL, and the CMEI Data Center
  • Provides search and collection of available data and information (printed and electronic materials)
  • Provides a broad spectrum of planning, budgeting, performance management, reporting, communications, tools, and business management services and support for GTO
  • Assists with corporate business management processes such as data calls, information and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, integrated reporting, budget inquires, and information consolidation
  • Aids in the drafting of responses to Congressional and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and other inquiries.
  • Supports GTO capabilities to productively comply with existing and new DOE, Congressional and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) mandates such as the GPRA Modernization Act and other policies and mandates
  • Provides administrative assistance for management plans, operating plans, reports, and related planning and project execution documents.
  • Operates with sufficient initiative and independence to identify problems and opportunities and bring ideas to the table for innovation and efficient management in the assigned tasks
  • Initiates and supports quality improvements in systems, services, or work processes
Skills & Requirements
Required Experience & Skills
  • Five (5) years' experience. Master's Degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong writing and editing skills

Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Federal Government budget analysis and development

Required Education
  • Minimum Education: B.S. or B.A. in Business Management, finance, accounting, economics, or related degree
