The IT Support Technician provides technical support within a secure, mission-focused environment supporting an IC customer. This role delivers hands-on and remote support for hardware, software, and enterprise IT systems, ensuring reliable operations for geospatial intelligence professionals. The technician will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, support classified and unclassified systems, and maintain compliance with DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) security standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide desktop support for Windows-based workstations, laptops, thin clients, and peripheral devices in both classified and unclassified environments.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, COTS/GOTS software, and mission applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network connectivity, printer, and peripheral issues.
• Perform account provisioning and access management in accordance with IC security policies.
• Support secure communications systems, including VoIP and VTC platforms.
• Image and deploy end-user devices using enterprise deployment tools.
• Document incidents, service requests, and resolutions within the enterprise IT Service Management (ITSM) system (e.g., ServiceNow or equivalent).
• Coordinate with system administrators, network engineers, and cybersecurity teams to resolve escalated technical issues.
• Maintain compliance with DoD 8570/8140 certification requirements
• Assist with hardware lifecycle management, inventory tracking, and asset accountability.
• Support office moves, equipment refresh efforts, and technology upgrades.
• Provide professional, customer-focused support to executive and mission staff.
Required Qualifications
• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• 4+ years of IT support experience in a DoD or Intelligence Community environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, Microsoft Office suite, and enterprise collaboration tools.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware (desktops, laptops, printers, docking stations, peripherals).
• Familiarity with Active Directory, account management, and basic network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices within classified environments.
• CompTIA Security+ (or ability to obtain quickly) in compliance with DoD 8570/8140 requirements.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting geospatial or intelligence mission systems.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Citrix).
• Experience with ITIL-based service management processes.
• Prior experience supporting executive-level personnel.
